Facebook Inc’s impartial oversight board tweeted on Monday it might announce a call May 5 on whether or not to uphold former U.S. President Donald Trump’s indefinite suspension from the social media platform and Instagram.
Facebook blocked Trump’s entry to his Facebook and Instagram accounts over considerations of additional violent unrest following the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol by his supporters. It later handed the case to the oversight board.
The board, created by Facebook in response to criticism over its dealing with of problematic content material, in mid-April mentioned it had prolonged the general public remark interval on the case.
The board had mentioned then that the Trump case acquired over 9,000 feedback, greater than some other case.
