ETtech Deals Digest: no big round for second straight week


It was another quiet week, with no startup raising big rounds as VCs remained cautious in a choppy environment. Agri-fintech Jai Kisan and PriceLabs were the only startups that raised moderate amounts.


Jai Kisan picked up $50 million in an ongoing Series B round

Rural-focused agri-fintech startup
Jai Kisan raised $50 million (Rs 390 crore) from GMO Venture Partners, Yara Growth Ventures and Mirae Asset, among others, in a combination of equity and debt of the first tranche of its ongoing Series B round. Founded in 2017 by Arjun Ahluwalia and Adriel Maniego, the company wants to create a seamless financial services experience for individuals and businesses in rural India. It claims to have deployed low-cost credit worth over $220 million annually and recorded four-fold growth in 12 months.

PriceLabs raised $30 million from Summit Partners

Revenue management solutions provider
PriceLabs raised $30 million from Summit Partners. Headquartered in Chicago, PriceLabs provides artificial intelligence (AI)-led analytical tools to owners and managers of vacation homes and short-term rentals to help them automate and provide dynamic pricing for their properties across listings. It will use the capital to expand its team and develop more products.

Chattybao raised over $5 million in funding round

Chattybao, a shopping platform built on WhatsApp,
raised over $5 million, led by Ventures Southeast Asia & India and Ventures. 7Square Ventures and other angel investors also participated in the round. Chattybao connects users with local stores and provides a shopping experience over WhatsApp. Users can discover, chat, order and get home delivery from local merchants without having to download multiple apps.

Bengaluru-based Threado bagged $3.1 million

Community management startup Threado
raised $3.1 million in a funding round led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India. Founded in 2020 by former

executive Pramod Rao and Abhishek Nalin, Threado provides a dashboard for businesses and creators to manage their online communities on Slack, Discord, Discourse, Twitter, or GitHub. It plans to use the funds to strengthen its team, double down on its product and expand in North America.

Crypso closed a $3 million seed round

Crypso raised $3 million in seed funding from Hashed

, Athera Venture Partners, and Whiteboard Capital. Prominent angel investors including Polygon founders Sandeep Nailwal and Jayanti Kanani, and Cred founder Kunal Shah, also participated in the round.

YC-backed Better Opinions raised $2.5 million from a clutch of investors

Event-based trading platform Better Opinions
raised $2.5 million in funding from investors including Metaplanet VC and Goldwater Capital. The company allows users to make predictions across various categories such as cricket, cryptocurrency, politics and entertainment and win real money if their predictions come true. It plans to use the funds to build and expand its product and technology teams, and for marketing and user growth.

GetSupp raised Rs 9.5 crore in funding led by General Catalyst and Better Capital. GetSupp is an AI-driven nutrition and food supplements marketplace for users to discover and buy supplements. It offers a personalised post-purchase experience built on AI.

â–  Community-led ecommerce startup
The Nestery raised over Rs 6 crore in funding led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). Founded in 2019, The Nestery is a marketplace for children and maternity products that helps parents discover what to buy, when, and why. More than 400 brands are registered on the platform.
