Emraan was quoted saying, “I have been starstruck by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Actually, I had never done this before. I waited outside her van when I was an assistant director with my cousin Mohit Suri. He was also an assistant at that time. I waited atleast for one-and-a-half-hours. I had not done that before. It was ridiculous. We were assisting for Raaz but before that I had seen her film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and I was a huge fan. I wanted to get a glimpse of her.”

To note, there was a time when he landed in trouble for his remark on her. At the Koffee With Karan show, he called her plastic. However, during an interview with Hindustan Times, he said, “I didn’t mean it. I’m a big fan of Aishwarya. It’s the format of the show. I cannot not say things and not win the hamper. I love her. I have always been a great admirer of her work. I knew people would make big deal out of it. So what? People make a big deal out of nonsense all the time.”

On the work front, Emraan is soon going to make his Telugu debut with Pawan Kalyan starrer OG. A gangster drama, directed by Sahoo director Sujeeth, it will see the Murder actor playing a negative character. In an exclusive conversation with , Hashmi says, “It’s an ambitious film and is mounted on a big scale. It’s a pan-India film and this is the audience who may have known me as an actor but have not necessarily seen my films. I also wanted to explore a larger audience and work in this unfamiliar territory and penetrate down South, something that I hadn’t done before.”
