E-commerce enabler GoKwik appoints Amitt Sharma as chief customer officer

E-commerce enabler GoKwik has on-boarded Amitt Sharma as its chief customer officer.

With 12 years of experience in customer success and delivery, Sharma joins the company from MoEngage, where he led customer success and implementation in addition to fine-tuning the overall expansion strategy for South East Asia and ANZ during his stint.

According to the company, Amitt would help drive GoKwik’s vision to maximize the value delivery to its clients and would be responsible for creating an enablement layer within the team to scale best practices to fuel growth and retention initiatives.

“As we expand our business into newer segments and geographies, it becomes critical to constantly bring the best practices in improving and modernizing GoKwik’s customer care approach and leadership. We believe that with Amitt coming on board, we would build a world-class organization focussed on the ethos of customer centricity and uplift e-commerce conversion rates at a rapid scale,” Chirag Taneja, co-founder of GoKwik, said.

Backed by marquee investors such as Sequoia Capital India, Matrix Partners India, Think Investments, and RTP Global, the company has helped over 250 direct to consumer brands, marketplaces and omnichannel platforms, including Snapdeal, Lenskart, Be Bodywise, boAt, Mamaearth, The Man Company, The Souled Store, and Bombay Shaving Company.

In his previous roles, Sharma has also worked as customer success and delivery lead with Observe.AI in San Francisco and Bengaluru. He helped the company grow from seed to a $88 million Series B stage. GoKwik said it is also trying to replicate its India success stories in markets such as EMEA, APAC, and Americas.

“As someone passionate about customer delight, GoKwik’s merchant-first philosophy is quite appealing to me. The vision of this company to create products that cater to the biggest problems e-commerce brands face today is commendable,” Sharma said.

Founded during the 2020 pandemic as a remote-first company by Taneja, Vivek Bajpai, and Ankush Talwar, GoKwik is an e-commerce enablement platform that provides full-stack e-commerce enablement solutions to brands.
