Durai Senthilkumar’s Karudan Starring Unni Mukundan, Soori Goes On Floors –

After headlining Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 1, actor Soori will be next playing a lead role in the film titled Karudan alongside Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan. The film is directed by Ethir Neechal and Pattas fame RS Durai Senthilkumar.

The pooja ceremony to kick-start the shooting of the film recently took place. Film distributor and industry tracker Karthik Ravivarma shared a bunch of photos on X (formerly known as Twitter) from the day and the cast and crew can be seen posing for the camera during the ceremony. “Actor Ssoori’s next Karudan Shooting Starts, Stars: Soori – Sasikumar – Unni Mukundan, Mark this tweet, Promo video of this movie will surprise you… (Promo coming soon) Soori anna’s terrific action movie loading,” he penned in the tweet.

The film is touted to be an action thriller and the music is being crooned by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The project is bankrolled by Lark Studios and Grassroot Cinema Company. The camera will be craned by Arthur Wilson and Pradeep E Raghav will be handling the editing of the film.

Before Karudan, Durai Senthilkumar and Vetrimaaran had collaborated in Kodi. It is also worth noting that Senthilkumar helmed the 2016 political drama and Vetrimaaran produced it. Senthilkumar was also credited as co-writer for Vetrimaaran’s political thriller Viduthalai Part 1.

Meanwhile, Unni Mukundan wrapped up the shooting of the Malayalam film Mahal: In The Name of Father, directed by Nazer Irimbiliyam last week. The film is gearing up for its release. The film features Shaheen Siddique and Lal Jose alongside Unni Mukundan in the leading roles. Mahal has been bankrolled under the banner of IMAC Production and is produced by Dr Arjun Parameshwar and Dr Haris KT. The film’s story will spin around the bond between a father and son, and their struggle to survive, especially amid modern-day challenges. The release date is yet to be announced.
