Dunki Director Rajkumar Hirani To Produce OTT Show Starrring Vikrant Massey; Reports –

Rajkumar Hirani is currently grabbing headlines for his upcoming film Dunki with Shah Rukh Khan. The film is set to release on December 22. Well, amid this a report has surfaced that the director is all set to make his debut in the world of OTT. Reports are buzzing with the news that Hirani will be producing the show starring Vikrant Massey. Nothing much has been made official about this but the piece of news has left fans excited.

Rajkumar Hirani is known for his blockbuster films such as “Munna Bhai MBBS,” “3 Idiots,” “PK,” and “Sanju.” Pinkvilla has quoted a Zoom entertainment report claiming that Rajkumar Hirani is cooking up something for the OTT world with Vikrant Massey in the lead.  However, Hirani won’t be directing this one. He’s taking on a producer’s role and throwing in his creative inputs.  As production preparations are in full swing, the final ensemble cast and other crucial details are swiftly falling into place. The Munna Bhai MBBS director has been eyeing the OTT space for a year or two, and as soon as the right script came along, he wasted no time in getting the wheels turning.

Coming back to Dunki, on Friday night, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his X (formerly known as Twitter account) and revealed that Dunki makers are planning to release the teaser of Rajkumar Hirani directorial soon. “SRK – ‘DUNKI’ NOT POSTPONED… Yes, #Dunki is arriving on #Christmas2023… #DunkiTeaser releasing soon! #SRK #RajkumarHirani,” Taran Adarsh wrote.

For the unversed, on Friday, several reports claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki will not hit theatres on December 22 to avoid clash with Prabhas’ much-awaited movie Salaar.

This is not the first time that the reports claiming Dunki is getting postponed made headlined. Earlier this year too, similar reports grabbed everyone’s attention, when Shah Rukh Khan clarified saying, “I think, Mashallah, God’s been very kind. We had Pathaan. God’s been even kinder with Jawan. I always tell we started with Republic Day (January 26). It’s an auspicious day. On Janmashtami, we released Jawan. On Christmas, we will bring Dunki for you. I prioritize national integration. And whenever my film releases, it has to be Eid. I’m working hard. I’m working harder than what I worked in last 29 years. And Inshallah, I will work hard. I get happy now when people watch movies and they derive happiness out of them.”

Dunki is directed by Rajkumar Hirani. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu, marking their first on-screen pairing together.
