Post the panel discussion at CCXP 2023, when the Dune 2 cast gathered together to click a group photograph, Florence Pugh was hit in her face with an object.
Florence Pugh was the latest celebrity to experience the wrath of an audience member when she was hit with an unidentified object at the 2023 Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Florence attended the glittery event as a part of a panel for her upcoming film Dune: Part Two. The ceremony which was organised on December 3, witnessed the arrival of Dune 2’s cast members and other members from the Hollywood film fraternity. A video of a flying object being tossed at the Oppenheimer actress, leaving her stunned is now widely circulating on social media. The culprit, believed to be an individual from the crowd, has not been identified yet.
According to a report by TMZ, all the Dune 2 cast members along with the film’s director Denis Villeneuve assembled at the Comic-Con event to speak about the upcoming sequel of the 2021 sci-fi adventure film Dune. Post the discussion, when the Dune 2 cast gathered together to click a group photograph, Florence encountered the displeasing incident. A video on X (formelt Twitter) captures the Dune 2 stars arm-in-arm as they smile for a click. Soon, an object comes hurling at Florence who seems taken aback by the surprise attack. The others present with the actress show concern for her with a few asking her whether she was okay.
X users were left fuming after the video surfaced on the internet, questioning the integrity of the audience at such public events. Calling the act “disgusting” one individual wrote, “It’s going to get to the point where people do not want to do live events or concerts. If they have to be worried about people throwing stuff at them and getting hurt.” “Time to start threatening people with arrest and assault charges if they throw things at people. That’s what it is,” suggested another. A third person called the entire incident to be “A true sign of a society in moral decline”.

Fans throwing objects at celebrities while they are on stage have become a common occurrence. Earlier, Watermelon Sugar singer Harry Styles also faced the brunt of the audience when a person threw something at him during a concert in Austria. Others on the list include Canadian rapper-singer Drake and American rapper Cardi B.
Speaking about Dune 2, apart from Florence Pugh, the film also stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Léa Seydoux, and Austin Butler. The Denis Villeneuve directorial will premiere on March 1, 2024.
