Deepika did get a few TV offers but didn’t take them up because the roles were not quite meaty.
Actress Deepika Singh made her debut with the 2001 film Sikandera but catapulted into the limelight with the daily soap Diya Aur Baati Hum. The show enjoyed a successful six-year run, and Deepika garnered a substantial fan following for her portrayal of Sandhya Sooraj Rathi. Despite the show’s success, Deepika has faced challenges in securing significant opportunities in the industry. In an interaction with The Times of India, she shared, “Despite being a part of the long-running successful show, I did not get many interesting offers. I don’t know what didn’t work for me. My film Titu Ambani was released earlier this year but didn’t translate into more work.”
Deepika candidly admitted that she struggles with networking and approaching people for work, which may have contributed to the limited opportunities she encountered. Reflecting on her career, she revealed receiving a few TV offers but turned them down due to the perceived lack of substantial roles. Deepika emphasised that working in a TV soap is demanding, with shoots commencing at 7:00 AM and continuing until 11:00 PM.
On a personal note, Deepika entered marital bliss with Diya Aur Baati Hum’s director, Rohit Raj Goyal, in 2014 in a private ceremony. The couple embraced parenthood on May 20, 2017, welcoming a baby boy at a suburban hospital around 9:00 PM. Deepika spoke about the challenges during the last phase of her pregnancy in an interview, stating, “For me, the last few months have been tough. But the best part is that Rohit has taken a break from his shoot and is taking care of me. So, because of him, things have become a bit easier for me. Also, I live in a joint family, so there are other family members to take care of me too. Because of them, this phase has turned into a beautiful experience.”
Fans loved Deepika’s dance and praised her.
