Radhika Sarathkumar recalls how Dhanush revealed Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s romance on Naanum Rowdy Dhaan sets during filming.

Netflix’s Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, released on November 18, takes a deep dive into Nayanthara’s life, career, and her relationship with husband Vignesh Shivan. The documentary also sheds light on how the couple fell in love during the making of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a film produced by Dhanush.
While narrating their love story, Nayanthara shared that she found Vignesh “cute” while he was directing Vijay Sethupathi on the Pondicherry sets. She revealed that after finishing her portions, she texted Vignesh saying she missed being on set. However, Vignesh, assuming she was joking, initially dismissed the idea of them dating.
Actress Radhika Sarathkumar, who played Vijay Sethupathi’s mother in the film, recalled the moment she found out about the romance, and it was none other than Dhanush who broke the news to her.
Radhika shared in the documentary, “It was Dhanush who called me and said, ‘Sister, do you have any shame at all?’ I was like, ‘What is he saying?’ He asked, ‘Aren’t you aware of what’s happening? Don’t you know that Wikki and Nayan are dating?’ I said, ‘What the hell are you saying? I knew nothing.'”
Dhanush, as the film’s producer, played a significant role in bringing the couple together. However, this relationship has now become the subject of a legal tussle between Nayanthara and Dhanush.
In an open letter, Nayanthara accused Dhanush of refusing to allow her to use clips from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her documentary. She claimed his legal team demanded Rs 10 crore for three seconds of behind-the-scenes footage used in the trailer. Following this, Dhanush’s legal team issued a 24-hour ultimatum to remove the footage, escalating the tension between the two parties.
