Deepika Padukone Says SRK Is ‘Vulnerable’ With Her: ‘We Have a Sense of Ownership Over Each Other’ –

Deepika Padukone opened up about her bond with Shah Rukh Khan and said that she is one of the people the superstar can be vulnerable with in the industry. The actress recently shared the screen with SRK in Jawan. She played his on-screen wife in a flashback portion of the Atlee film. Their on-screen chemistry was loved by fans. They also shared the screen earlier this year in Pathaan, which was another blockbuster this year.

Speaking about SRK and their on-screen luck, Deepika told The Week, “We are each other’s lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other.” Deepika added, “I am one of the few people he is vulnerable with. There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on the top.”

Deepika began her Bollywood journey opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Released in 2007, the film emerged as one of the biggest hits of the year. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika reunited for a special song in Billu (2009) before they shared the screen in Chennai Express (2013). The Rohit Shetty film was another big hit. They then shared screen in Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan.

Apart from speaking about Shah Rukh, Deepika also opened about Pathaan’s Rs 1000 crore collection for the first time. She said, “I’ve never been fascinated by numbers whether it was Maths in school or the numbers of Pathaan. I was just happy that cinemas had come alive again, that people had come alive again. I was really grateful for that.”

On the work front, Deepika has a slew of projects in the making. These include Fighter, in which she will shared the screen with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor; Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas; and a Hollywood film, among many others.
