“Dil Sambhalta Nahi” is the newest venture of singer-composer Daboo Malik. The song which adds the 90’s flair in 2022 is a duet of Daboo Malik and legendary singer Alka Yagnik.
“It is a dream come true for me, for the longest time I wanted to do a romantic song. My first song was Thoda sa Pyaar Thoda sa baaki. It was always a dream to sing a duet with Alka Yagnik and that’s how I wanted to launch my career. Somewhere down the line when I started my little home label MWM which is a community of musicians, I thought of fulfilling my dream. The journey from Thoda Sa Pyaar to Dil Sambhalta Nahi has been a 23-year-old dream,” Malik said.
He further added, “It still feels surreal, most of the times I was rejecting my parts and I felt like a newcomer despite being in the industry for so long. But, some voice inside me said this is the time. I got intimidated because Alka ji is such a legendary singer.”
The singer-composer has been in the industry for 23 years. When asked about the biggest highlights of his career, he said, “There are many but my top picks would be when I signed Maine Dil Tujhko Diya as a composer despite a lot of competition with Salman, Sohil and Salim Khan’s blessings I did the film solo. The second would be when I saw Bindiya Chamke being shot by Farah Khan with Salman Khan and Dia Mirza and the most important factor of life is that my dream of everything that I wanted to do with music is fulfilled by Amaal and Armaan.”
The pleasure of having your sons excel in life is immeasurable, Daboo Malik further enunciated by saying, “Both my sons are very humble, hardworking and sincere towards their craft. The driving force for them is that they have seen their father’s failures as well as success.”
His song is out on YouTube and has since been receiving a lot of love and appreciation, Malik reacts to the same and says, “People have been giving a lot of love. In today’s time, everything is about numbers but we should not care about numbers at all. We should let people discover. I just want to reach the common man, that’s good enough for me.”
