DA increased for employees in 6 states in two months, expectations for 4% hike soon: 7th Pay Commission

The dearness allowance for Central Government employees is anticipated to rise by 4%; states raise DA.

7th Pay Commission: In the most recent news in regards to the seventh Compensation Commission, there is expectation among Focal Government representatives for an expansion in dearness remittance one month from now.

The central government may increase the salary allowance for employees by 4%, according to projections. Alternately, during the most recent two months in the financial year 2023-24, a few states have raised their DA.


Employees have received a salary increase as a result of the Seventh Pay Commission, resulting in increased compensation for pensioners as well as government employees.

Employees receive a dearness allowance by adding it to their base pay. We should investigate a couple of states that have expanded the dearness remittance for the financial year 2023-24.

The dearness allowance was recently increased by 4% in the state of Karnataka, and it went into effect on January 1, 2023. However, the Central Government might increase DA once more in July.

The DA for employees in this area has been increased by the government of Karnataka from 31% to 35%, and pensioners have received the same increase.

Moving on to Uttar Pradesh, the UP government made the decision to raise DA and DR by 4% in May. Pensioners and government employees both gain from this increase, which results in 42% DA for pensioners and 42% DR for employees.

Under the Seventh Pay Commission, the state government of Tamil Nadu announced a 4% increase in DA, which would take effect on April 1, 2023. The DA has increased from 38% to 42% as a result of this increase.

In April, the government of Haryana also announced a 4% increase in the dearness allowance. The DA has been at 42% since January 1, 2023, and the 7th Pay Commission will be used to calculate salaries for employees.

Additionally, in April, the Jharkhand government announced a 8% increase in DA, taking it from 34% to 42%. In a similar vein, the government of Himachal Pradesh increased the dearness allowance by 3%, bringing it to 34%. Both of these augmentations have been successful since January 1, 2023.
