Friends star Courteney Cox has shared one of her favourite memories from working with her late co-star Matthew Perry.

Courteney Cox has penned an emotional tribute to her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry on social media. Courteney, who earlier released a joint statement with her Friends co-stars shortly after Matthew’s death, has shared her own personal tribute on her official Instagram account.

The American actress shared a clip from the Season 4 episode when her character Monica Geller and Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing had a one-night stand in London.

“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story,” she wrote in the caption.

“In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say,” she continued to write. “He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”

Matt Le Blanc, who played Matthew’s room-mate Joey on the popular sitcom, also took to his Instagram account to post his tribute. Sharing a series of throwback photos with Matthew from the sets of Friends, Matt wrote: “It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.

It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Two days after Matthew’s death, his Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer paid an emotional tribute to the late actor, who portrayed Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on the popular American sitcom.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” they said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.”

Matthew Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home on October 28.
