The facility, located at Ozone Techno Park in Chennai was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, in the presence of senior government officials from the state.
The company said this strengthens Cognizant’s focus on a hybrid work model in Tamil Nadu where the company has over 81,000 employees primarily based in Chennai and Coimbatore.
“Tamil Nadu continues to be a key talent and global delivery hub for Cognizant,” said Rajesh Nambiar, Chairman and Managing Director, Cognizant India “We will continue to expand our associate base, skill talent in advanced digital technologies, and expand our myriad initiatives to serve local communities through our partners and volunteer work.”
Further, he went on to add that the company has a strong focus on recruiting freshers and that the aim is to recruit 50,000 freshers this year in comparison to the 33,000 college graduates that they hired last year.
Cognizant was founded in Tamil Nadu in 1994, and first began operations in Chennai with 50 associates.
