He is also scheduled to visit Delhi and Bengaluru. He will interact with key customers, startups, developers, educators and students during his India visit.
Nadella, in his address on Tuesday, listed cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) as imperatives that can be helpful in driving economic growth.
“Cloud has been a big game changer… cloud is in early-to-intermediate innings…,” Nadella said and noted the “tremendous momentum in cloud adoption.”
Hyderabad-born Nadella also lauded the way in which India is building public infrastructure.
In New Delhi on Wednesday, he is expected to meet government officials including Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, and Union Minister of IT, Communications and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Nadella’s visit comes just two weeks after Alphabet Inc’s India-born chief executive Sundar Pichai’s trip to the country.
“Our priority in India has been to drive broad and inclusive economic opportunity. Each time I visit, I look at how we’re creating local surplus and local jobs, how we’re helping small businesses become more productive, large businesses become more competitive, the public sector becoming more efficient, and helping drive greater health and education benefits,”
