Citroen C3 gets a 110hp 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine. Key features revealed.
Citroen India has revealed fresh details of its upcoming C3 Aircross SUV. The French-brand’s next product for India under the C-cubed program will go on sale in the coming months and will be aimed at the crucial mid-size SUV segment that has a long list of contenders.

Citroen C3 Aircross powertrain and fuel economy
The C3 Aircross will come with a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine that churns out 110hp and 190Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. An automatic gearbox option is likely to join at a later stage. This engine is the same as the one that powers the C3 turbo hatchback.
Along with confirming the powertrain details, Citroen has also announced that the C3 Aircross 1.2 turbo petrol with manual gearbox delivers an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 18.5kpl. This puts the C3 Aircross in the middle of the pack when compared with midsize SUVs equipped with either 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine or the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The upcoming Honda Elevate 1.5 NA returns 16.11kpl, while the Kushaq 1.0 TSI and Taigun 1.0 TSI return 16.83 kpl and 18.23kpl, respectively. The Creta and Seltos 1.5 NA have a fuel efficiency of 16.85kpl and 17.35kpl respectively. The Grand Vitara and the Hyryder return 21.12kpl, making them most fuel efficient of the lot.
Citroen C3 Aircross features and option packs
The C3 Aircross will get five and seven seat options. It comes with four customization packs. Key features include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.2 inch infotainment screen with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets auto stop start, hill hold feature and tyre pressure monitoring system on higher variants. The C3 Aircross however, does not get a sunroof on any variant.

Bookings for the C3 Aircross will open by September with price announcement and deliveries expected to take place in October this year.
