Chiranjeevi’s Shankar Dada MBBS Re-releasing In 4K On This Date –

Many of Chiranjeevi’s films haven’t done well at the box office.

Shankar Dada MBBS was the official remake of the blockbuster Hindi film Munna Bhai MBBS.

Actor Chiranjeevi is facing a slump in his career at the moment. All his recent films have failed at the box office except Waltair Veerayya. Last year’s Acharya was a washout while his most recent Bholaa Shankar failed both commercially and critically. While his popularity and fandom remain untouched, his recent failures have prompted cine buffs to think about whether the star should start playing characters closer to his real age like Nandamuri Balakrishna and Rajinikanth have. Even while his recent films have been failing, a respite has come in the form of the trend of re-releasing older films.

The Telugu film industry has been capitalising on the stardom and fame of many actors and releasing their old films once again in theatres. Chiranjeevi’s Gharana Mogudu was released recently in theatres and it got a much better response than his recent films. And now Chiranjeevi fans have a reason to rejoice since one of his most iconic films, the comedy-drama Shankar Dada MBBS is set to release in theatres once again.

The makers have stated that a spectacular 4K version of the film will be released worldwide on November 4. Chiranjeevi starred in the family-friendly comedy directed by Jayanth C Paranjee and had a hilarious yet action-packed part. Sonali Bendre played Chiranjeevi’s leading lady while Srikanth played Chiranjeevi’s memorable sidekick ATM. Girish Karnad and Paresh Rawal were two of the movie’s other notable cast members.

Shankar Dada MBBS was the official remake of the blockbuster Hindi film Munna Bhai MBBS. The story revolves around a good-hearted local goon whose father is insulted by the dean of a medical college due to his actions. As an act of revenge, he fraudulently takes admission into his very medical college and decides to become a doctor.

At the South Filmfare Awards of 2005, Chiranjeevi and Srikanth each received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor- Telugu and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor- Telugu.
