Check new prices as UP revises electricity rates, Rs 7 power tariff slab gone

Indeed, even after consuming in excess of 500 units, purchasers should take care of their power bill at Rs 6.50 per unit rather than Rs 7.

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPREC) Saturday delivered the new power levy costs for the flow monetary year 2022-2023.

It said there is no expansion in taxes for any shopper class, adding that chunks have been amended. In a proclamation gave, the UPERC expressed that in metropolitan regions, the power levy of Rs 5.50 per unit for 0-150 units has now been fixed for 0-100 units.


151-300 units

The Rs 6 for each unit duty for 151-300 units has been decreased to Rs 5.50 per unit for scope of 101-150 units.

301-500 units

Essentially, the tariff of Rs 6.50 per unit for 301-500 units has been amended to Rs 6 for every unit for 151-300 units.

For 500 units or more, on which Rs 7 for every unit was collected as tax, the reach has been changed to over 300 units, and the duty has been fixed at Rs 6.50 per unit.

For the BPL classification (homegrown), the duty has been kept unaltered at Rs 3 for every unit till 100 units.

For rural customers

For rural customers, the tax of Rs 3.35 per unit for 0-100 units and Rs 3.85 per unit for 101-150 units class stays unaltered.

In the 151-300 units classification, tax of Rs 5 for each unit stays unaltered. The changed power levy for 300 units or more is Rs 5.50 per unit, down from Rs 6 for each unit.

For the BPL (domestic), tariff has been left unaltered at Rs 3 for every unit till 100 units. For the rustic unmetered associations (homegrown), it is unaltered at Rs 500 for every kilowatt each month.
