OpenAI’s ChatGPT app is expanding its availability to additional nations, according to a tweet by the company’s CTO, Mira Murati. The app can now be accessed in Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Brazil, South Korea, New Zealand, the UK, Nigeria, and Nicaragua. Murati mentioned that more countries would soon have access to the app, with India potentially being included in the next phase.
India has been witnessing a growing interest in the AI-powered chatbot, and the app is gaining popularity in the region. It is important to note that ChatGPT is currently not accessible in the form of an app for Android smartphones.

The web version of ChatGPT was made accessible to the public towards the end of the previous year and has witnessed immense success as a technological launch. It rapidly emerged as the fastest-growing platform globally, attracting 100 million users within the initial two months of its public release, a milestone that even popular apps like Instagram and TikTok couldn’t reach. Although the platform can be accessed on smartphones, it currently relies on the web version, which may not always deliver a seamless experience.
OpenAI, the organization behind the renowned text-to-image generator bot called Dall-E, recently introduced the iOS app exclusively in the United States.
The ChatGPT app provides a comparable level of performance to the ChatGPT website, allowing users to receive conversational responses to intricate queries. Additionally, ChatGPT exhibits the ability to assist with tasks such as editing lengthy articles, reviewing application code, and solving mathematical problems.
Users who subscribe to the ChatGPT Plus membership (priced at $20 or ₹1,655 per month) gain access to supplementary features, including plugin support, instant replies, and the elimination of wait times. The iOS app ensures that existing Plus members can also enjoy these enhanced features.
Interestingly, the expansion of ChatGPT app availability to these additional countries holds great potential for users seeking convenient access to information while on the move. The chatbot possesses language comprehension capabilities, encompassing Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Although the chatbot can converse in Hindi as well, its proficiency in this language may not match that of English.
