Jungkook and Jimin will be under the guidance of assistant instructor Kim Seok Jin, who began his mandatory military service in December 2022.
Two members of the globally renowned Korean boy band BTS, Jimin and Jungkook, are gearing up for a new chapter in their lives – military training. Now, as per the new reports, the duo will reportedly be guided by none other than assistant instructor Kim Seok Jin, popularly known as Jin, who started his mandatory military service in December of the previous year. Jin, currently fulfilling his role as an assistant instructor at the New Recruit Training Center in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi province, has been actively involved in mentoring new recruits.
The training center is situated in the heart of the 5th Infantry Division of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Army. As an assistant instructor, Jin has previously trained WINNER member Kang Seung Yoon, who completed his basic training at the Yeoncheon-gun base in July of this year.
Jimin and Jungkook will join the ranks of special new recruits at the Yeoncheon-gun base for their 6-week training stint. Following this period, they are expected to receive official assignments.
Adding to the enlistment timeline, V is set to initiate his basic military training at the New Recruit Training Center in Nonsan on December 11. The Slow Dancing singer has reportedly expressed interest in joining the Special Mission Unit (Special Forces) of the ROK Army’s Capital Defense Command, with plans to be assigned to the unit upon completing his basic training.
Parallel to these developments, BTS leader RM is scheduled to embark on his basic training at the Nonsan center on the same date, December 11.
BIGHIT MUSIC, the label representing BTS, officially announced on November 22 that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have initiated their military enlistment process. The statement conveyed the company’s dedication to supporting the artists throughout their military service period. It also urged fans to continue showering love and support on RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook until their return, with the expectation that all members will complete their mandatory military service duties by mid-2025.
