BTS’ BigHit Music says it will continue to ‘eliminate illegal activities’.

BigHit music also revealed that an individual was allegedly sharing ‘violent and abusive comments’ against the BTS members.

BTS’ agency BigHit Music has taken a strict action against those spreading ‘malicious’ information against the K-pop idols. On Wednesday, the agency issued a long statement on Weverse and revealed that it has filed criminal complaints against those violating artists’ rights and causing harm to their families.

“Hello. This is BigHit Music. Our company regularly initiates legal proceedings against perpetrators of malicious activities related to BTS, including defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, the spread of groundless information, and ill-intentioned criticism. We would like to provide an update on these important activities. During this quarter, we filed multiple criminal complaints with law enforcement agencies based on evidence related to acts infringing on the rights of the artists, including defamation, submitted by our fans as well as collected through our own monitoring,” the statement read as quoted by Hindustan Times.

“In particular, we gathered ongoing evidence regarding individuals who repeatedly sent mails and packages to the artists’ residences, even causing harm to the artists’ families, and filed criminal complaints against them on charges of violating laws regarding stalking crimes (Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking). The court has issued an interim restraining order, and a prosecutor’s investigation is underway. We remain committed to an upcompromising, zero-tolerance policy in addressing stalking crimes that infringe on the privacy and safety of our artists,” the statement added.

BigHit Music also talked about an individual who was allegedly sharing ‘violent and offensive abusive comments’ and revealed that a criminal complaint has been filed against him too. The agency concluded by warning all that it will continue to ‘eliminate illegal activities’ and take action against those sharing ‘malicious’ posts related to BTS members, including the ones who are currently fulfilling their mandatory military services.

For the unversed, BTS members Jin and J-Hope are currently serving in military. Earlier this month, BigHit Music also confirmed Suga’s military enlistment. Details regarding the military service of the rest of the group members – RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook will be shared by this year end.
