Britney Spears On Her 2-Week Fling With Colin Farrell: ‘We Were All Over Each Other, So Passionately’ –

Britney Spears and Colin Farrell had a brief fling.

Britney Spears recalled her 2-week fling with Irish actor Colin Farrell while she was still not over Justin Timberlake.

Britney Spears’ memoir The Woman In Me has been creating headlines even before its release. Earlier this week, news went viral that she had an abortion to end a pregnancy by fellow pop star Justin Timberlake while the two were dating in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Now, more excerpts from the book reveal that she had a steamy, 2-week-long fling with Irish actor Colin Farrell.

The excerpt obtained by Time read, “Brawl is the only word for it—we were all over each other, grappling so passionately it was like we were in a street fight.” Their brief fling occurred in 2003, after her public breakup with Justin Timberlake. In her memoir, Britney wrote that Justin had slept with “six or seven girls” soon after their breakup. Thus, Britney decided to have some fun of her own.

In her memoir, she wrote that a “club promoter” friend set her up with Colin, and they had a “two-week brawl”. They also attended the premiere of the actor’s movie The Recruits together. Colin then maintained that they weren’t dating. “We’re not dating… She’s a sweet, sweet girl. There’s nothing going on—just mates,” Vanity Fair quoted the actor as saying then.

Later in the same year, Britney told W Magazine, “Yes, I kissed him… He’s the cutest, hottest thing in the world—wooh!… But it was nothing serious.” In her book, as per the excerpts obtained by Time, Britney wrote, “For a brief moment in time, I did think there could be something there. The disappointments in my romantic life were just one part of how isolated I became. I felt so awkward all the time.”

“As I had before when I’d felt too attached to a man, I tried to convince myself in every way that it was not a big deal, that we were just having fun, that in this case, I was vulnerable because I wasn’t over Justin yet,” the singer reportedly wrote.

The book is due for release on October 24 from Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon and Schuster.
