Renault celebrates the 50,000th Kiger with a new Stealth Black colour.
It’s hard work hitting a milestone. And when you do it in the country’s most competitive segment — compact SUVs — you ought to celebrate the achievement with something special. That’s exactly what Renault did earlier this month when it rolled out the 50,000th Kiger from its state-of-the-art plant with global standards in Chennai, with the unleashing of an all-new Stealth Black Kiger. If you thought the sporty, smart, and stunning Renault Kiger couldn’t get any more attractive, the 2022 Kiger in the new exterior colour provided the answer. With the Kiger, you get to pick from the best-in-class colour range with seven attractive colours and an option of four dual-tone colour combinations.

Continuous enhancement
The Renault Kiger, which won the Autocar India Compact SUV of the Year award earlier this year, has been praised by both experts and enthusiasts. What’s also noteworthy is that this is the third global car Renault launched in India first before introducing it to other markets around the world. After being widely accepted in India after its launch in 2021, the Renault Kiger found favour with customers in countries as varied as Indonesia, South Africa, Mauritius, and Brunei.
Now, the 2022 Kiger looks set to win more hearts. The Kiger, which featured among the top 2 in the JD Power 2021 India Initial Quality Study in the compact SUV segment, is available with two engine options – the 1.0-litre Energy Engine, offered with a manual transmission or an EASY-R AMT transmission, and a 1.0-litre Turbo available with a manual gearbox or an X-TRONIC CVT.
The Kiger has always been known as a smooth, refined performer. It accelerates with confidence, responds to taps on the accelerator briskly, and has a lot of low-end grunt to make overtaking or filling gaps in traffic easy. The Kiger also stands out in its segment for offering three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport, selected via a rotary dial. The difference in each mode is very noticeable. Of course, the Renault Kiger feels very well suited to the Sport mode. It manages to be fun while boasting of one of the best-in-segment fuel efficiency of 20.5kpl. The Kiger’s ride is exemplary as well — it feels comfortable and sure-footed at the same time.
Enhanced features
The 2022 Renault Kiger comes packed with features designed to delight. Adding convenience to the drive are Cruise Control functions. Additionally, there’s ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, impact-sensing door unlock, speed-sensing door lock and ISOFIX anchorage for child seats. Enhancing the experience is a wireless smartphone charger, 60:40 split rear seat with adjustable headrests, digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, cooled glovebox, and power folding mirrors. Other highlights include an Arkamys 3D sound system and a class-leading 405-litre boot.
In terms of safety, the Kiger has already been awarded a 4-star safety rating for adult occupant safety by Global NCAP. Besides four front and side airbags, the SUV also features seatbelts with pre-tensioners and load-limiters for the driver.
16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels with red wheel caps amps up Kiger’s looks.
One of the best things about the Renault Kiger is its visual appeal. It looks like an SUV-coupe, with its raked rear windscreen, tapering roofline and distinct spoiler. The design is chunky and sharp, without being boxy. What you’re likely to love though, is how affordable the Renault Kiger is with all that it offers. It’s a well-rounded package that undercuts many of its rivals and is a compelling proposition. Take a test drive and see for yourself.
