This would be BMW’s first electric two-wheeler in the country.
BMW has sent out an official invite for the launch of the CE 04 electric scooter. The CE 04 is mated to an 8.9kWh battery and claims a range of 130km.
Its motor generates a peak output of 31kW, which can propel the scooter from 0-50 in a claimed 2.6 seconds and to a top speed of 120kph. BMW claims a charging time of 4 hours and 20 minutes with a regular charger, which can be reduced to 1 hour and 40 minutes with an optional fast charger. Featuring a telescopic front fork and a side-mounted rear monoshock, the BMW electric scooter rides on 15-inch wheels wrapped in 120 front and 160 rear tyres. The CE 04 has a 780mm seat height, which can be increased to 800mm with BMW’s optional comfort seat. It also has a 179kg weight with standard equipment.
The CE 04 has various features, including three ride modes, traction control, ABS, a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, and more. The overall design looks futuristic and features distinct design elements and unconventional bodywork. Currently, BMW has not disclosed any key details apart from the date or price. However, the C 400 GT was launched at Rs 11.20 lakh (ex-showroom India) and we expect the CE 04 to be priced nearly twice as much.
