A spacious, well-equipped SUV with a comfortable ride quality is what you should be looking for.
I have a 11-year-old Maruti Suzuki SX4 CNG, which needs to be replaced, and a 6-year-old Volkswagen Polo petrol in good condition. I plan to replace the SX4 with a SUV for city and weekend driving – total usage around 7,000km annual use.
Please suggest ideal options for me below Rs 20 lakh. I would prefer an automatic, as I frequently travel overseas and need the practise to drive an automatic car. My family is not keen on Maruti Suzuki, and Tata and Mahindra have a long waiting period.

Autocar India says: Your best bet is the Korean twins, the Hyundai Creta or Kia Seltos. Of the two, we feel the 1.5 Creta with a CVT automatic is the best bet for you. It’s smooth and easy to drive and is perfect for city driving. What gives it an edge over the Seltos is the marginally softer ride, which makes it more comfortable over Mumbai’s shambolic roads. Also, Hyundai has a wider service network than Kia.
