Ben Affleck has found himself in the limelight once again, this time due to a series of unfortunate events surrounding the Los Angeles wildfires. After being forced to evacuate his newly acquired home, Ben sought refuge at the home of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. However, the situation escalated when paparazzi captured both FBI and LAPD officers surrounding his property. In a video clip, Ben is seen driving out of his house in his BMW, visibly frustrated as police officers block his driveway without any clear explanation.
While it’s unclear what he said, reports suggest that the police were searching for an unauthorised drone that crashed with a firefighting aircraft, a super scooper, during the wildfire rescue operation. LAPD and FBI Authorities were reportedly checking if security footage at Ben’s property could help them investigate the case.
A spokesperson from the FBI’s team informed Page Six, “Members of the FBI‘s Ground Intercept task force are conducting activity in the area of the Palisades Fire relative to unauthorized drone activity. Agents and our local partners may be visible throughout the area, including at various residences, for this reason. FBI agents were at Affleck’s home to see if he had CCTV footage of a private drone which damaged a super scooper, one of the fire fighting aircrafts.”
In a statement released by the FBI, they mentioned, “The aircraft, commonly referred to as a ‘super scooper,’ was conducting fire suppression operations at the Palisades Fire near Malibu, California and was able to land safely. The collision left a 3 x 6 inch hole in the left wing. Parts of the heavily damaged drone were recovered.”
Despite his home still being under evacuation orders, Ben Affleck feels relieved that his property has been spared for now. The actor, who has witnessed the devastating effects of the wildfire and the loss many have experienced, is deeply stressed by the situation. In light of the disaster, Ben has been doing what he can to support others affected. In an unexpected twist, he has also remained in close contact with his second ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, during this challenging period. JLo has been offering her support, ensuring Ben and the children know that she’s there for them during this difficult time.
