The new names could be used for upcoming models in the Pulsar line-up.
Bajaj has filed trademark applications for two new names – Pulsar Elan and Pulsar Eleganza. The trademarks were filed at the beginning of March, and while this is the first time we’re hearing of these names, it is known that Bajaj is working on revamping the Pulsar line-up. This process kicked off with the launch of the Pulsar 250 and F250 late last year, and most of the remaining models are expected to follow suit, receiving new engines, underpinnings and designs.
The engine used in the new quarter-litre Pulsars is expected to be scalable to different displacements, and will find its way into more Pulsar models with time. It’s possible that the newly discovered name tags could be used on these upcoming Pulsar models. If that is the case, it would signal a departure from Bajaj’s traditional displacement-based system of nomenclature for the Pulsar range. Alternatively, the new names could be used for special editions of the existing Pulsar models. Or perhaps they will add to the list of names that Bajaj has trademarked but is still yet to use. These include monikers like Fluor, Fluir, Scrambler and Pacer.
