Riding high on the success of Stree 2, Aparshakti Khurana has received a special shoutout from his brother Ayushmann Khurrana for his upcoming film, Berlin. The trailer for the spy thriller was unveiled on August 29, along with the announcement of its release date. Excited about the trailer, Ayushmann took to Instagram Stories to share a quirky note, cheering on Aparshakti’s back-to-back ventures.

In his post, Ayushmann attached the trailer for Berlin and wrote, “Stree 2 ki ‘apaar’ safalta ke baad aa rahe hai Aparshakti Khurana bilkul alag andaaz mein. Berlin,” followed by a red heart emoji. FYI, Berlin will premiere on September 13 on Zee5.

Directed by Atul Sabharwal, Berlin also stars Ishwak Singh, Rahul Bose, Anupriya Goenka and Kabir Bedi in the lead roles. As seen in the trailer unveiled yesterday, the film’s plot is set in the politically charged New Delhi of the 1990s. Aparshakti Khurana, in the film, plays the role of Pushkin Verma, hired by Rahul Bose’s Jagdish Sondhi, to help the authorities in a case where a deaf-mute young man has been arrested on suspicion of being a foreign spy.

Aparshakti Khurana also shared the trailer on Instagram with the caption reading, “Pushkin, Ashok, and Jagdish are woven into a web of lies, deceit, and illusions. Will this investigation reveal the truth or complicate it further?”

Meanwhile, Berlin garnered positive responses from the audience at international film festivals including MAMI, Stars Asian International Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The film is produced by Umesh KR Bansal, Atul Sabharwal and Manav Shrivastav.

As for Aparshakti Khurana’s last venture Stree 2, the film saw him reprising his role of Bittu. One of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2024 till now, the Amar Kaushik directorial also stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee. Regarding the storyline, the sequel to 2018’s horror comedy takes viewers back to Chanderi which is now terrorised by Sarkata (a headless monster).

Before Stree 2, Aparshakti Khurana entertained the masses with his performance in the well-acclaimed web series Jubliee. Released on Prime Video, the show delved deep into the 1950s film industry. Besides Aparshakti, the film also starred Prosenjit Chatterjee, Sidhant Gupta, Aditi Rao Hydari, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ram Kapoor.
