Atlee talks about working with Rajinikanth
Atlee’s directorial track record is impressive, boasting several blockbuster films in his career, including Raja Rani etc
Atlee is riding high on the success of Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan. The film was loved by fans and has become one of the highest-grossing films. However, the popular director still has a dream come true. Yes, you are reading right. In a recent interview with Gopinath, Atlee said that he wants to direct Rajinikanth and will be surely doing so. Well, he did mention that earlier also he tried but things did not fall into place.
Atlee said, “I am a die-hard fan of Rajinikanth. I learnt a lot of things seeing him, like public-speaking. I worked with him for 300 days in Enthiran. He used to call me ‘Kanna’. We worked twice on some content but due to time constraints, it didn’t materialise. I couldn’t do it because of the time factor. The pressure of wanting to do something better than Baasha has stoped me from working with him yet.” He added, “I am not saying for the sake of it. If you see, trade-wise, whoever I directed be it Arya or Vijay anna… my film has become the peak for the heroes. I want to do a film that becomes the peak for Rajinikanth. I have tried it a couple of times, but it didn’t work but Rajini sir is always ready. He has told me multiple times. So, a film with Rajini sir is definitely on cards. It is just matter of time.”
The news will surely make his fans excited and they will be eagerly waiting for his next announcement. During a conversation with same Gopinath, Atlee revealed, “So, when he came, Shah Rukh sir and Anna (Vijay) discussed between themselves and called me. Shah Rukh sir told me if I ever have plans of directing a dual hero film, they both are ready for it. Vijay Anna also said, ‘Ama pa’. So, I am working on it. It could be my next film.”
