Arushi Sharma and Vaibhav Vishant, in their first joint chat, talk about how their love story. They also reveal why they haven’t been on their honeymoon yet.
After dating for two years, Arushi Sharma tied the knot with casting director, Vaibhav Vishant, on April 18. Days later, she took to Instagram to share pictures of their dreamy and intimate wedding that took place in Chail, Himachal Pradesh. And now, in their first ever joint interview to Showsha, Vaibhav reveals that he was the one to pop the question and how Arushi would always try and ‘avert’ the conversation ‘in every way possible’ each time he would bring up the topic of marriage.
“She would always push me away every time I would try to come close because she couldn’t believe this is happening while this was happening. But I supposed some things are just meant to be. There were some moments that led us to where we’re today and it was that god them happen,” he says.
Reacting to him, Arushi shares, “I would always try to escape the topic of marriage. I used to keep telling him, ‘We’ll think about it. Let’s just enjoy this phase as of now.’ And he would keep telling me that it’s time for us to get married. In this New Year, he told random people that we’ll get married this year even though we had no plans to. But then, it actually happened.”
Vaibhav goes on to tell us that their relationship has been such ‘a whirlpool of emotions’ that he plans on translating it for the screen someday. “We’ve known each other for a while and we were friends for the longest time. I was always sure about my feelings but she’s somebody who wouldn’t easily trust somebody for life. That was too big an ask. It just so happened that eventually, over a period of a few months, she too developed feelings. And it’s definitely a love story I would like to write a script on,” he shares.
The lovebirds further reveal that their parents have been rather supportive of their relationship from day one. Talking about it, the Love Aaj Kal actor says, “Parents generally ask different kinds of questions about your partner like what kind of a person he is and for how long we’ve been together. But they didn’t have to ask these questions because they were convinced that he was the right person for me.”
Thanking his mother-in-law, Vaibhav gleams, “It was Arushi’s mom who took the step to call me to meet her. That really gave a push to the whole thing. It was because of our parents that we’re married today. Her parents must have gone through a lot of emotions when they came to know about me and I’m yet to ask them how and when they approved of me to be a part of their family. This is something I keep wondering.”
So, how has life been post marriage? “It has been a little over a week. There’s definitely a difference. Even Vaibhav is feeling it. But we want to devour every moment of it slowly. It’s a very sweet and special feeling which you get only once in a lifetime. We’re truly enjoying this phase right now,” remarks Arushi.
Quiz them about their honeymoon plans and Vaibhav chuckles, “We’re still browsing. You’ve brought up the wrong question! I’m to be charged for this. I need a little time to plan this.” Arushi quips, “We’re looking for suggestions.”
