Giorgia Andriani opens up about her breakup from Arbaaz Khan in a new interview.
Arbaaz Khan and Giorgia Andriani were in a relationship for the last four years. Following Arbaaz and Malaika Arora’s divorce, the latter, too, sought comfort in the companionship of Arjun Kapoor. Arbaaz and Malaika ended their marriage in 2017, having been married since 1998. Despite their separation, they continue to co-parent their son, Arhaan. And now, it turns out, Arbaaz and Giorgia have also split. The model recently opened up about the label of Arbaaz Khan’s girlfriend and whether she found it demeaning.
Speaking with the entertainment portal PinkVilla, Giorgia explained, “I do find it demeaning for someone’s personality to be addressed as someone’s girlfriend, or someone’s boyfriend, or someone’s something. I find it very demeaning. I have lived my life, till now all my struggles, all my work, all my preparations…my evolution to become what I am now to be called ‘somebody’s girlfriend’. I definitely find it very demeaning. I wish not to be called that anymore.”
She had previously revealed about the split, “We were friends, we were like best friends. I will always have feelings for him; I will always do. The relationship that he had with Malaika (Arora) did not really come in the way of my relationship with him. What I am now to be called somebody’s girlfriend, I don’t; I definitely find it very demeaning. We both knew that it wouldn’t have lasted forever. It was very different.”
There were rumours that the couple had broken up last year but they had kept mum regarding the speculations. After a considerable period, Arbaaz and Giorgia were seen happy in each other’s company, at an IPL match between Kings XI Punjab versus Gujarat Titans alongside Preity Zinta in Mohali in April 2023.
During Karan Johar’s appearance on an episode of Moving In With Malaika, he asked whether Malaika had approached Arbaaz to discuss the rumoured breakup with Giorgia. To this, Malaika said that she was uncertain about the speculations and said that she doesn’t have a tendency of asking about Arbaaz or their son Arhaan’s personal affairs. She explained that while some divorced couples may seek information through their children, she chooses not to cross that boundary and prefers to maintain a distance from such matters.
Arbaaz Khan is now seen on Bigg Boss as a host. Salman Khan takes on the hosting duties for the Weekend Ka Vaar episodes on both Friday and Saturday, while his brothers and fellow actors, Sohail Khan and Arbaaz, engage in playful banter with the contestants on Sunday.
