At its annual developer conference – WWDC 2023, Apple took the wraps off a new 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 chip. During the keynote, the iPhone maker also announced a price cut of the existing 13-inch MacBook Air.
Powered by M2, the 13-inch MacBook Air has become cheaper by ₹5,000 in India. The laptop is offered in two storage configurations – 256GB and 512GB. Originally priced at ₹1,19,900, the 256GB variant of M2 MacBook Air (13-inch) will now retail at ₹1,14,900. Similarly, the 512GB model is now priced at ₹1,44,900 (originally ₹1,49,900).
Readers must note that there is no change in the price of MacBook Air M1 which is retailing at ₹99,900 on Apple online store.
Apple claims that the new MacBook Air is the thinnest 15-inch laptop globally, measuring a mere 11.5mm in thickness. The 15-inch MacBook Air is equipped with the M2 processor and has a base price of ₹1,34,900. However, for education purposes, the laptop will retail at a starting price of ₹1,24,900. The new MacBook Air is offered in Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Grey color variants. Starting today, you can place an order for the 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 on apple.com/in/store. Deliveries to customers, as well as availability in Apple Store outlets and Apple Authorized Resellers, will commence on Tuesday, June 13th.
The new 15.3-inch MacBook Air is powered by the same M2 chip that also fuels its 13.6-inch counterpart. The M2 chip boasts 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, enabling enhanced computational and graphical capabilities. It can also be configured with up to 24GB of RAM and a maximum storage capacity of 2TB.
The new MacBook Air laptop retains essential features such as a headphone jack, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, MagSafe, and introduces new color options. The design of the larger MacBook Air remains consistent with its 13-inch counterpart.
