Apple WWDC 2023: List of iPhones that may support iOS 17 support


Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is an annual conference for Apple developers. The company’s biggest event of the year will be held on June 5 this year. At the event, Apple will announce new software and hardware products including the latest operating system for iPhones – iOS 17. 


Ahead of the official announcement, a leak has revealed the list of alleged iPhones that will support the latest iOS software. It is expected that Apple may drop iOS 17 support for iPhone 8 and iPhone X series. While other reports say that the list of iPhones iOS 17 will be the same as iOS 16.

Apple iOS 17: Expected features

According to reports, Apple is planning to bring significant changes with the latest operating system. This may include sideloading of apps, enhancements to Wallet app and Find My app among others. As per Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the iPhone maker is likely to focus on updates to core system apps with the iOS 17. He says that there will be enhancements to ‌Find My‌ app with a bigger push on location.

Apple is also planning to finally allow iPhone users to sideload third-party apps. The feature, however may be limited to Europe as a compliance measure with the Digital Markets Act. Also, developers may be required to pay an extra fee to offer apps via third-party services. Apple iOS 17 is reportedly codenamed ‘Dawn’.
