Apple iPhone 15 is already creating buzz about its technology, expected features, and rumors around its looks. But, the release of the new Apple iPhone also impacts the larger iPhone markets as some iPhones get discontinued, while the price of other iPhones are dropped. The iPhone 12 is expected to be discontinued after the launch of the iPhone 15 as Apple never keeps iPhones in its stores that are older than three years.
Every year Apple removes some iPhones from its production line-up and while these iPhones are still available on e-commerce websites or in re-furbished form with some dealers, the Apple Stores discontinue their sale.
Currently, one can find iPhones like iPhone SE 2022, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Pro Max in the Apple Stores. Notably, Apple didn’t manufacture mini models for the iPhone 14 model as the sales of for iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini were not very impressive.
Discontinuation and Prices
iPhone 12 will become the first casualty of the introduction of the iPhone 15 and apart from its discontinuation, the prices of the model at the e-commerce websites will likely witness a significant drop.
The other models that are expecting certain discontinuation are iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, as Apple is discontinue these versions from all previous iPhones. Tech experts are suggesting that iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 14 Plus may also get discontinued or at least a sharp reduction in their prices is expected.
The reasons for the discontinuation can be the 6.7-inch display of the iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which can counterproductive in the sale of new iPhone model.
