Apple has launched a new MagSafe battery pack for the iPhone 12 series late on Tuesday. In India, Apple has priced the MagSafe battery pack at Rs 10,900. The iPhone 12 series accessory can be purchased from Apple online store once released. The product is already listed on the website.

This isn’t the first time that Apple has launched battery cases for iPhones but the new one is unique. The key highlight of the Magsafe battery pack is the embedded magnets. The magnets attaches the case to the iPhone 12 series smartphones.

The company has revealed that the new battery pack charges with up to 5W of power, so be assured that it is not going to offer fast charging for your iPhone.

MagSafe battery pack: How it works

The newly launched Magsafe battery pack has been launched specifically for the iPhone 12 series users. The models under the lineup includes all four models such as the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Mini, the iPhone 12 Pro, and lastly, the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The battery case that was previously announced by Apple specifically for iPhone 11 series came with a physical camera shortcut button. The new one doesn’t come packed with any other such features, which looks slightly disappointing. The only offering it provides is to provide extra juice.

The newly launched Magsafe battery pack works like a wireless charger, which means you might also be able to use it to charge your AirPods, or any other device that supports Qi wireless charging.

Additionally, the support page mentioned that the battery requires iOS 14.7 to be able to work, which is a support that is yet to be out. The Apple website is showing the first delivery of the battery pack on July 22, which means the iOS 4.7 update could be out soon.
