Animal’s CBFC certificate surfaces online and it reveals the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has been ordered 5 changes before being granted the A certificate.

Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal has been cleared by the Censor Board but with a few changes. The Central Board of Film Certification gave the film an Adults Only (A) certificate and asked director Sandeep Reddy Vanga to make five changes. One of the changes they have asked the team do is reduce the length intimate scenes. In the certificate leaked online, one of the pointers reads, “Modified the intimate visuals of Vijay and Zoya by deleting the close-up shots at TCR 02:28:37.”

The directive hints that Ranbir and Rashmika’s characters might be named Vijay and Zoya. Sandeep Reddy Vanga had already hinted that the duo with share a few intimate scenes when he released the song, Hua Main. Apart from this directive, the Censor Board has also asked the filmmaker to replace the Hindi word vastra with costume. Check out all the changes directed to Animal by the CBFC:

In an interview with The Hindu, the director said he was happy that Animal has got an A certificate and as the film is made only for adults. He added that he will not be taking his own son to watch the film.

Animal is spread across a duration of 3 hours 23 minutes. Speaking about the length, the filmmaker said, “The first cut of Animal was 3 hours 45 or 46 minutes. I chopped till 3:21. I have seen the film multiple times and it is an engaging film. Ranbir is a great performer and will not let the audience relax for a second. My job is done when the producer is confident of getting his money back with some profit.”

About Animal:

Animal is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and revolves around a father and son’s toxic relationship. While Anil plays the emotionally unavailable father, Ranbir plays the role of the traumatised, angry son. The trailer was released in Delhi with Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna by his side. Speaking at the press conference, Ranbir compared Animal with Karan Johar’s Khushi Kabhie Kabhi Gham. “This is an adult rated Khushi Kabhie Kabhi Gham,” Ranbir said.

Animal marks Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s second directorial venture in Bollywood, after Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh. Animal marks the first collaboration between Sandeep and Ranbir. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on December 1.
