Ananya Panday cheers for Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion
In Chandu Champion Kartik Aaryan plays the role of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist in the film.
Kartik Aaryan starrer Chandu Champion is all set to release today. The makers have organised a special screening for celebrities ahead of the release. Many have attended including Ananya Panday, Tiger Shroff, and others. The actress has reviewed the film and called it outstanding.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Ananya shared the Chandu Champion poster and wrote, “Outstanding. You have to see it to believe it”. She also shared heart emojis for the entire cast and crew. To note, Chandu Champion is about the extraordinary journey of a man who refused to give up. Kartik Aaryan plays the role of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist in the film.

Kartik went through rigorous training to look the part of a freestyle swimmer in the film, which involved reducing his weight from 90 kgs to 72 kgs and his body fat from 39% to 7%. In fact, Kartik recently took to social media to share a viral before-and-after transformation picture of himself that encompassed his journey from an ‘insomniac’ to a ‘fitness enthusiast’.
In an exclusive chat with Showsha, Kartik’s trainer said he started a ‘program-based workout’ with Kartik in 2022 for Chandu Champion, and back then, the actor was as heavy as seen in the picture that has garnered a lot of scrutiny. Talking about how Kartik’s physicality had ‘shocked’ him, he says, “In the beginning, I gave him some basic movements like squats, pull-ups and push-ups, and he couldn’t do any of it! I knew that he had gained weight for Freddy but the fact that he couldn’t pull off even these basic movements really shocked me.”
On the work front, Ananya Panday has an exciting lineup of projects in her kitty. The actress is set to feature in the TV series Call Me Bae alongside Varun Dhawan and Vir Das. The storyline revolves around a billionaire fashionista who, following a scandalous controversy, is disowned by her ultra-rich family and navigates life independently. Ananya is also part of projects like Control, Battle Thy Seeds, Darbadar, Shankara, The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair, and Run For Young.
