Jawan star Lehar Khan opened up about her first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan. The actress revealed she fell on Big B’s feet but he stopped her.
Before impressing audiences with her role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, Lehar Khan was seen in Brahmastra. The actress played one of the superhero students at the Amitabh Bachchan’s school in the Ranbir Kapoor-headlined film. Speaking about her first meeting with Big B, Lehar said that she reached for his feet, in an attempt to take his blessings before starting her scenes with him. However, he stopped her from touching his feet.
Speaking with Bollywood Hungama, Lehar recalled, “It’s every actor’s dream to meet and touch Amitabh Bachchan’s feet and get into it (the film industry). That was the first thing I did too but he told me, ‘Nahi nahi. Ladkiyan paer nahi chooti’ (No no. Girls don’t touch feet). I was like, ‘Sir, please allow me. As an actor, let me get into it.’”
Sharing her fondest memories from the sets of Brahmastra, Lehar said that Amitabh often complimented her smile. “Like I would just be standing and smiling looking at the set. Out of nowhere, he would come and say, ‘Mohatarma, aapki muskaan toh matlab…’ All these memories are forever for me. I hope I get to work with him again,” she said.
Lehar left everyone in tears with her performance in Jawan. The actress played the role of a farmer who dies by suicide after he couldn’t repay the loan he borrowed in an unfair money lending scheme. Her scene backstory in the movie kicks off the events of revenge in the Atlee film.
Sharing a photo with Shah Rukh on Instagram, Lehar expressed her love and gratitude for him. “I have grown up watching you, loving you and admiring you sir. I dreamt of meeting you someday, but little did I know… I got a chance to not just meet you, but also work with you, learn from you and love you even more. The warmth and the love that you spread around, only you can do that. Since childhood, love has just been increasing unconditionally. After meeting you, I love you even more. Thank you sir ♥️,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Jawan has been breaking box office records since its release. On Wednesday, the film surpassed the box office collection of Rs 660 crore gross worldwide.
