Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are among the most loved celebrity couples in Bollywood. They often express their love for one another in interviews and always ensure to spend quality time together. In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Ameesha Patel recalled how once Saif Ali Khan wanted to fly to America to be with Kareena on Valentine’s Day.
Ameesha said, “During the course of the shoot of Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Valentine’s Day happened, and Saif had recently started dating Kareena. Saif called me one day and said, ‘Listen Ameesha, I need these dates but Adi (Aditya Chopra) has said to check with Ameesha if she’s willing to adjust. I want to go to LA to be with Kareena and I want to take her out.’ I was like, ‘Ok Saif, I’ll adjust my dates.'”
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s love story is one of Bollywood’s most celebrated romances. The couple first crossed paths on the sets of Tashan in 2008. In an old chat with Niranjan Iyer, Kareena opened up on how she made the first move because Saif was ‘restrained’.
She said, “I was the one who kind of pushed all the right buttons. Saif actually is the kind of guy who is not very forthcoming towards any woman. He will never make the first move. He is too English and restrained in that way. And plus, when I made the first move, he was like, ‘I can’t believe that Kareena Kapoor is doing this’. He was like, ‘Why?’ I mean, it was like an entire building had crumbled on his head. So I don’t know what he meant by that, whether he thought he was very lucky or what. But well, eventually it all worked out. And I think it was, I was responsible for it.”
After a few years of dating, they tied the knot on October 16, 2012. The couple is now proud parents to two sons—Taimur Ali Khan, born in 2016, and Jehangir Ali Khan, born in 2021. Meanwhile, Saif Ali Khan, who sustained multiple injuries during a robbery incident at his residence last month, is back to work after being discharged from the hospital.
