Alia Bhatt reveals whether she will play her Shanaya from her debut film Student of the Year again.
Alia Bhatt made her acting debut in Bollywood with the 2012 film Student of the Year, directed by Karan Johar. In the film, the actress plays the role of Shanaya, a rich, shopping-loving girl who is not the sharpest but deeply values her relationships in life. Since then, she has played a variety of diverse characters, leaving the audience in awe of her acting prowess.
At the Hindustan Times’ recent summit, Alia was asked if she would ever play Shanaya’s role now. Alia gave an interesting reply. She said, “Actually, never say never. I never limit myself. I really go with my instinct.”
“I definitely feel my personality, of course, as anybody’s personality has evolved over the last ten years, so maybe my choice of movies, the way I approach every film, the process has become more structured. But still, I would say I have no structure when it comes to process,” she said, adding that her process differs with every film.
The film completed 11 years on October 19. It also marked 11 since Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra made their debuts with Alia Bhatt. The film received immense love from the audience and brought wonderful opportunities for the three debutant actors. Alia had shared earlier that she celebrated the special day by listening to the film’s hit song, Ishq Wala Love.
Alia Bhatt has come a long way in showbiz since her debut. The actress has carved a niche for herself with rich, content-driven and commercial films to her credit. The actress has proved her mettle and has become one of the most bankable actresses today.
Alia recently received the National Award in the Best Actress category for her performance in and as Gangubai Kathiawaadi. Alia shares this honour with Kriti Sanon for Mimi. She will next be seen in Vasan Bala’s Jigra.
