Alia Bhatt Features on TIME's 100 Most Influential People List; 'Heart of Stone' Director Calls Her 'International Star' – DellyRanks

Alia Bhatt reacts to being on TIME’s 100 most influential people list.

Alia Bhatt has made it to TIME Magazine’s ‘100 most influential people of 2024’ list alongside Dua Lipa and Dev Patel.

Alia Bhatt, who is in the best phase of her career, has made it to TIME’s ‘100 most influential people of 2024’ list. Alia’s ‘Heart of Stone’ director Tom Harper has eulogised her in the magazine, describing her as a “formidable talent” who is a “truly international star”.

“Alia is not only one of the world’s leading actors, admired for her work in the Indian film industry for over a decade—she is also a businesswoman and a philanthropist who leads with integrity,” Harper added.

Recalling his first meeting with Alia, Harper said, “I met Alia on Heart of Stone, her English-language film debut. Despite her fame, on set she is self-effacing and funny. There is a grace to the way she goes about her work: focused, open to ideas, and willing to take creative risks. One of my favourite moments in the film came from an improvisation at the end of a take where she took the emotional thread and ran with it.”

“Alia’s superpower is her ability to mix movie-star magnetism with authenticity and sensitivity. As an actor she is luminous, and as a person she brings the grounded assurance and creativity that make a truly international star,” Harper said.

Alia also took to her Instagram account to share the news with her fans and thanked Harper for his “kind words”. She wrote, “Honoured to be a part of the #TIME100 @time. Thank you dearest #TomHarper for your kind words.”

On the work front, Alia will next be seen in Vasan Bala’s Jigra, which also features Vedang Raina.

Also on the list was Indian origin actor Dev Patel, who has been receiving praises for his latest release Monkey Man. His profile was written by Get Out actor Daniel Kaluuya. “Dev radiates goodness. His humanity shines through every time he graces the screen, leaving you no choice but to root for him even when his character is doing something foul; his presence makes you understand where he’s coming from,” he wrote and lauded Dev’s new film.
