Alia Bhatt worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the first time in Gangubai Kathiawadi. She also bagged a national award for the same.
Post the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s creator is considered to be one of the best collaborations between an actor-filmmaker. Now, looks like the duo is prepping to come together for the second time for the much awaited Baiju Bawra. Yesterday in the night, Alia was seen outside SLB’s office. The photos immediately went viral.
Earlier there were reports, Alia may have walked out of her project due to her pregnancy, when the preliminary dicussions were taking place. However a report by Bollywood Hungama put and end to the same. “Alia had loved what she heard of Baiju Bawra during the shooting of Gangubai Kathiawadi. Although Deepika was keen to do Baiju Bawra, having missed out on Gangubai Kathiawadi after three back-to-back epics with Sanjay Bhansali, Alia had been finalized for the part during the shooting of Gangubai and that remains unchanged.”
There had also been buzz about who will play the male lead, and SLB was considering Ranbir Kapoor. However, latest buzz suggests that Ranveer Singh might play the part.
With Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia Bhatt won the prestigious National Award for the first time.Taking to her Instagram account, Alia shared a picture where she recreated the iconic Gangubai pose and flashed a big smile. The actress penned a note of gratitude to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the team of Gangubai Kathiawadi, crediting them for the win.
“To Sanjay Sir.. To the entire crew.. To my family.. To my team & last but most definitely not the least To my audience.. ♥️ This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. seriously!!!” Alia wrote.
“I am SO grateful .. I do not take moments like these lightly.. I hope to continue to entertain for as long as I can.. Love and light.. Gangu (also known as alia) ,” she added.
As for Alia Bhatt’s latest film, after grossing a whopping Rs. 343.98 crores at the worldwide box office, Alia Bhatt’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is now available on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Currently, the film is available to rent for 30 days. However, it will soon be available for free on the platform. The OTT version of the film also features an extra 10 minutes which were cut from the theatrical version due to time constraints.The actress was also seen her in her Big Hollywood debut Heart Of Stone, alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan.
