After years of rumours and delays, the announcement of Hera Pheri 3 has reignited massive anticipation, with many hoping that the film will capture the same magic and humour that made the first two such massive hits. The film’s expected return of the original trio — Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Sunil Shetty – has fans eagerly waiting for it. And now, Akshay Kumar has given a big update on the same.
At the HT Leadership Summit, Akshay Kumar said, “We’re just making Welcome at the moment, and as soon as producer’s ki hera pheri khatam ho jaye, woh phir hera pheri shuru kar denge (As soon as the producer’s hera pheri (mischief) is over, they will start another hera pheri)! Just joking.” He then went on to add, “I think by next year we’ll start it.”
The first, Hera Pheri (2000), directed by Priyadarshan, starred Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, and Paresh Rawal as three hapless individuals who get caught up in a money-making scheme that leads to chaotic and hilarious situations. The film became a massive hit and is still widely loved for its comedic timing and memorable performances. The sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), continued the story of the three characters after they become rich, only to lose everything again in a series of scams.
