Ajith Kumar fans created a ruckus at theatres across Chennai
The much-anticipated release of Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi today, February 6, 2025, turned into a day of high drama as fans took their celebrations to the next level—literally lighting up theatres with fireworks. The incident, which occurred on release day, saw frenzied fans bursting crackers inside a packed cinema hall. Magizh Thirumeni’s Vidaamuyarchi, stars Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles.
Theatres across Tamil Nadu witnessed an unprecedented turnout, as Ajith Kumar’s massive fan base poured in to catch the first show of the star’s latest film. However, the euphoria in one theatre escalated when a group of overzealous fans decided to burst crackers inside the premises.
Numerous videos have surfaced on the internet now where movie goers are seen celebrating the film’s release and even arguing with the police.
In one video, we see a key scene being played on screen while some people set off firecrackers inside the theatre. Ani (Anirudh Ravichander) on duty. Theatre on fire,” reads the caption on the video.
The celebratory mood quickly soured when local police arrived to manage the situation. Reports suggest that the fans, unwilling to tone down their festivities, clashed with law enforcement. In some videos, we see the police struggling to control the crowd. A cop is even seen holding a fan’s T-shirt as others argue. One man can be seen placating the police.
In yet another video, police is seen asking a fan to calm down even as he won’t stop screaming Ajith’s name.
There are also several videos of fans dancing to the song Sawadeeka from the film inside theatres.
A clip shows fans throwing confetti, whipping their shirts off and dancing to song featuring Ajith and Trisha.
