Aishwarya’s gesture towards Agastya has won hearts online. Many showered them with love.

The Archies is directed by Zoya Akhtar. Speaking about casting Agastya, Zoya revealed that he was the last actor to have been roped in for the film. In an interview wiht The Quint, Zoya said, “Agastya Nanda was cast last, and he thought it was a prank.”

Speaking with Money Control, Zoya admitted that the nepotism debate over casting Agastya, Suhana and Khushi did cross her mind. But she did her share of auditions and felt that the trio fit their respective roles. “I would be lying if I told you that I didn’t think people will say things, but I am a filmmaker. I have to do what’s best for the film and if I believe Agastya is the best Archie, I’d be a fool to not cast him because ‘some people’ might troll me. The film has to speak for itself. My job and the reason I was hired is to do the best by the film. Nothing is bigger than the film,” she said.

The Archies is slated to release on December 7 on Netflix.
