After successfully dishing out Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee is busy shooting VD18 with Varun Dhawan and Keerthy Suresh.
Varun Dhawan has always expressed his love for action movies, and it looks like his dream is coming true. After finishing the Citadel series, Varun Dhawan is ready to join forces with director Atlee Kumar, actress Keerthy Suresh and producer Murad Khetani to create an electrifying action entertainer. This film promises to be a thrilling experience, combining stunning visuals and gripping drama. Reportedly, the project will hit theatres worldwide during the summer of 2024, marking the first collaboration of this talented trio. Now in an exciting development, with Jawan’s frenzy in the backdrop, Atlee is all set to resume shooting for the same with Varun Dhawan.
As per a source close to the entertainment portal PinkVilla, Varun Dhawan will be shooting some intense scenes with Keerthy Suresh. The film is expected to wrap up by December, for May 2024 release, “Varun Dhawan begins the second leg of shooting for Atlee’s mass entertainer today in a Mumbai studio. It’s a long schedule planned in multiple locations and will see Varun and his leading lady, Keerthy Suresh, canning major dramatic and emotional scenes together. The makers will also be filming some action sequences in this schedule that will run till around October 15th,” revealed the source.
Reportedly, Varun Dhawan shared that this much-awaited Atlee movie will release on May 31, 2024. It is also speculated that this upcoming project is a remake of the Tamil film Theri, which was also directed by Atlee.
Meanwhile, Atlee’s first pan-India film with Shah Rukh Khan Jawan has created a history at the box office. The film which is going strong in its third weekend has already collected Rs 500 crore at the box office. In an interaction with Indian Express, Atlee had shared, “Shah Rukh sir inspired me, not just as an actor, but also as a producer. I have learnt the craft from spending four years with him. Now, I have started producing films here (Bollywood). I already produced a couple of films in the south, and now I have started producing all over — producing two in Tamil, two in Telugu, two in Hindi.”
Adding to that, Atlee also teased VD18 with Varun Dhawan, “Regarding Varun’s film, it is going to be a mass film. Can expect the same calibration of mass to the theatre,” he stated.
