Government employees and the exchequer have been in conflict over the old annuity framework (Operations) or old benefits plot. While many state legislatures, including those of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, have declared the reclamation of the past benefits framework, a huge number of government workers as of late organized a dissent in Gujarat to require the reestablishment of the past benefits framework.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has reported that it’s thinking about reestablishing the Operations in Punjab. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that the AAP government will do the possibility study for returning to the Operations.
“My administration is thinking about returning to the Old Benefits Framework (Operations). I have requested my Central Secretary to concentrate on the practicality and modalities from its execution. We stand focused on the government assistance of our workers,” said CM.
Chhattisgarh was the main state to declare the reclamation of the old annuity plot and after that Jharkhand reported returning to the old benefits framework which will happen from October 1. The Rajasthan government then again is likewise attempting to set up Operations in the state.
The old benefits scheme was rejected on April 1, 2004. It was supplanted with a market-driven new benefits plot.
