Coming back to Manichitrathazhu, the film explores the supernatural activities experienced by Nakulan (played by Suresh Gopi) and his wife Ganga (played by Shobhana) in their ancestral home. This led to a psychologist named Sunny (played by Mohanlal) intervening in the matter. The movie featured legendary actors such as Nedumudi Venu, K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Innocent, and Thilakan whose nuanced portrayal of their respective characters turned out to be an enthralling experience for the audience to witness.

Meanwhile, the screenplay of the film, dialogues, and music continue to resonate with fans. The film has been shown on television for the umpteenth time and hardly any Malayali cinema enthusiast who did not like the film. The extremely popular movie also inspired filmmakers to remake the same in five different languages – Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Bengali. The film was successful in almost all languages with their sequels and spinoffs together earning more than an estimated Rs 500 crore since 2004.

Now, with the creative genius coming together for a new project, it will be interesting to watch another masterpiece just like Manichithrathaazhu.
