2024 Ford Mustang design leaked way ahead of official unveil

The image confirms the next-gen Mustang’s evolutionary styling update.

Ford is currently testing the next-gen Mustang, internally known as S650, and while there is time for the official unveil, a few leaked images have surfaced online partially revealing the car’s front end styling.

  • Next-gen Mustang will get slimmer headlights, new air intakes
  • New digital cluster with centrally-mounted infotainment screen
  • Expected to go on sale overseas in 2024

New Ford Mustang will continue with iconic styling

The leaked images of the next-gen Mustang suggest that the iconic car will carry on with the iconic design. At the front, the S650 Mustang sports a now familiar headlight with the tri-bar LED set-up. This is complemented by its signature Mustang pony badge on the front grille, with two air intakes on either side – making the car unmistakably a Mustang.

New Ford Mustang: expected powertrains

The American carmaker may introduce two hybrid powertrains on the next-gen model. These could be the electrified versions of the 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and the signature 5.0-litre coyote V8 motor.

Ford is likely to retain the same six-speed manual and ten-speed automatic transmissions for the S650 Mustang. Power output figures of these engines remain unclear, but the outgoing model produces 450hp and 557Nm.

New Ford Mustang: interior changes

Based on the leaked images, the next-gen Mustang will receive an all-new 12.3-inch digital display for the driver. This appears to be complimented by a 13.2-inch centrally-mounted infotainment screen with minimal physical buttons.

Ford Mustang: plans for India

According to sources, Ford will begin production of the next-gen Mustang in early 2024. Meanwhile, the carmaker plans to bring models like the Mustang Mach E to our shores via the CBU route, as Ford announced – in September 2021 – that it will stop manufacturing cars in India.
