2023 Porsche 911 Turbo S based TechArt GT Street R price, performance, modifications

The only carryover parts from the 992 Porsche 911 Turbo S it is based on are the roof and doors.

Porsche tuning specialist TechArt is expanding its India operations, and has commemorated this with the debut and delivery of India’s first 992 GT Street R. Based on the latest Porsche 911 Turbo S, the tuned coupe now produces 800hp and 950Nm thanks to extensive modifications.

  • Makes 150hp, 150Nm more than stock 911 Turbo S
  • India example one of only 87 made worldwide
  • TechArt mods available for entire Porsche range

TechArt GT Street R power and performance

The newest iteration of the TechArt GT Street R is based on the 992 Turbo S, with modifications bumping the 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat six’s power and torque up by 150hp and 150Nm, respectively. 800hp and 950Nm put it in supercar territory, and since it retains the Turbo’s AWD system, 8-speed PDK gearbox and launch control, the 0-100kph time is down from 2.7sec to 2.5. Top speed, meanwhile, is in excess of 350kph.

This is currently the most extensive modification TechArt offers, with every aspect of the 911 Turbo S being worked on. In fact, the only parts carried over unchanged are the roof and the doors. The GT Street R features wider tracks – front and rear – new sports suspension with variable ride height, a remapped ECU, new turbochargers, a new, louder exhaust and an aero kit that includes a huge active spoiler, amongst other mods.

This particular example, finished in Python Green, has been given the highest possible spec, which includes gloss forged carbon for the bonnet and aero add ons. Interestingly, the interior remains largely unchanged, save for TechArt’s sports steering wheel.

It is one of only 87 units of the 992 GT Street R in the world right now, although two more are likely to find homes in Indian garages. While the price wasn’t officially announced, the modifications on this car are said to cost in the region of Rs 1.8 crore, which is on top of the Rs 3.35 crore starting price of the donor car.

It is, however, not the most hardcore model TechArt offers; that is the GT Street RS, which is a far more track-focused model. The last version of this was based on the 991 GT2 RS, although kits for the 911 GT3 RS are also available.

TechArt India operations

Having set up its official India operations in Bengaluru in 2020 and servicing clients nationwide from this base, TechArt is now expanding operations to additional cities like Mumbai and New Delhi. A new Bengaluru showroom was opened on April 23, and additional showrooms around the country are expected to follow.

TechArt offers modifications for the entire Porsche model range, including the all-electric Taycan models. These include exterior cosmetic updates like wheels, body kits and pin stripes, interior upgrades like steering wheels and upholstery packs, aero-enhancement packages, sports suspension, and performance upgrades like exhausts, engine mods and remaps. These can be bought individually or as kits, the most comprehensive of which is the GT Street R package.

The parts are made in Germany and then shipped to India, where TechArt will fit them to a Porsche vehicle provided by the customer. In cases where extensive bodywork changes are carried out, the parts are even repainted by TechArt to match the base colour. The donor car can be brand new, or have been used by its owner prior to the modification as well.
